Artefacts is a modular expansion for Bretwalda, designed for 14 players. It introduces 20 unique Artefact cards and their matching markers, inspired by Celtic, Anglo-Saxon, and Norse myths. Each Artefact grants the controlling Ruler special abilities or bonuses, dramatically shifting the balance of power on the board from Beowulfs Armour, which strengthens your leader, to Raedwalds Helmet, a priceless treasure worth a precious Dalc.

Artefacts can be gained in multiple ways: discovered during play, purchased, or seized as rewards for defeating opponents. Once acquired, they remain with the Ruler until their death when they may pass into the hands of another. New Season cards further enrich the game with additional events, ensuring that no two campaigns for the throne of Britain play out the same way.
