Built as a quick reaction and escort, the Gnats single use rocket pods gives them a means to punch well above their weight in the initial salvo. A smaller but still modest nose-mounted missile launcher gives the Gnat more longevity at the cost of being shorter ranged, forcing Gnats to make themselves easier targets. The Gnats speed makes it ideal for cavalry tactics slipping in where theyre needed and turning the tide.
