Detailed Description:
This item is a traditional Japanese Gogatsu ningy (), created for seasonal
display during Boys Day (Kodomo no Hi, May 5th). The set features a samurai helmet
(kabuto) presented as a symbolic object rather than functional armor.
Gogatsu ningy are displayed in Japanese households to express wishes for a childs
health, strength, and protection, drawing inspiration from samurai culture and historicalvalues. The kabuto form is especially associated with warding off misfortune and
representing courage and resilience.
The helmet is richly decorated with gold-toned ornamental elements, symmetrical side
components, and a prominent frontal structure. Decorative cords and tassels are arranged at
the base, and the helmet is placed on a fabric cushion for display.
